Statutory Consents & Architectural Details
Paul McShane Architecture were appointed to carry out renovation works and partially project manage the loft conversion of a large period villa, located in Bridge of Weir. The existing loft was originally used as a partial storage area, with half of the floor due to the existing ceiling height within the master bedroom below. The orignal access was via a small store and maintenenace staircase, which was impractical and did not comply.
Our Client had recently refurbished the 1st floor and therefore wanted to preserve replicated cornicing and new plastering, therefore detailing was important to ensure that reinforcement to the floor construction resulted in minimal defelction to rooms below. The step in the floor could not be altered, therefore head height was crucial.
Re-roofing with new membrane, Welsh Slate, leadwork and flashings.
Renovation of attic floor to include bathroom, large open plan living space and a home cinema
Stairwell extended within the hall.
Replication of the existing balusters and newels to match existing.
Installation of 10 No. new roof lights.
