The Client was very specific about their needs for an extension. They wanted to achieve a large open plan kitchen and dining room with a lounge to the rear which connected with the existing garden.
The current kitchen, located at the far end of the building, is to become a new bedroom. The dining room at the front of the dwelling is to become a new master bedroom with ensuite.
As well as an extension, thisproject is a re-planning of public and private spaces within the dwelling. The new kitchen dining and lounge area is separate from a formal lounge to the front of the dwelling and allows a more family friendly and everyday useable zone which gives direct access to the private garden to the rear of the property. A large raised timber deck, accesed via new French doors, will allow a convenient external dining space with views to the River Clyde.
